Customisable Public Profile Landing Page/Tab
Social elements and public profiles are the biggest advantage of public media tracking platforms over self-hosted solutions imo, and Wetrakr has an overwhelming amount of profile layout customisation settings, which is great, but the impact of this customisation is drastically undermined by a few key issues.
Everything is spread out across an excessive number of tabs (some of which are redundant and have the same info as other tabs).
There appears to be no way to change which tab is shown to other users first without disabling prior tabs entirely (eg. making Stats private just to have Tracking be the default tab).
It’s difficult to fully tell what my public profile actually looks like without opening a second browser to look at it while logged out.
Consolidating the existing tabs could help, as could moving some of them to somewhere other than the profile, but I have another idea.
My suggestion is to create a customisable landing page for profiles in which users can mix and match elements from any of the current profile tabs (eg. last watched, lists, a single list, ratings, watch time, etc.) onto one single tab. Much like YouTube or DeviantArt, this tab would be the first thing users would see when visiting someone else’s profile, and would allow users to design their own public profile layout, while preserving the existing more detailed or private views in the other tabs.
